Welcome to Primary Colours Sligo
Welcome to the home of Primary Colours Sligo an exciting children’s arts education programme developed around the primary school visual arts curriculum delivered by Catherine Fanning and a panel of practising artists for Sligo Arts Service, Sligo County Council.
2024 Projects
Our 2024 Artist in Schools’ Residency artists were Karen Webster and Kathryn Maguire. The residencies took place in two Sligo schools over 8-weeks followed by an exhibition which was made up of a collection of artwork created by the artists during the Primary Colours Art Education Residency 2024.
2023 Projects
In 2023 artists Celeen Mahé and Sarah Ellen Lundy collaborated with two Sligo schools in an 8-week Artists in Schools’ Residency. The residencies were followed by an exhibition which was made up of a collection of artwork created by the artists during the Primary Colours Art Education Residency 2023.
2022 Projects
In 2022 artists Aideen Connolly and Jo Lewis worked with two Sligo based Primary Schools on a 13-week Artists in Schools’ Residency followed by an exhibition, created by the artists entitled ‘Realm’ at the Hyde Bridge Gallery, Sligo. Class groups were invited to participate in artist led gallery exhibition tours and workshops.
