Primary Colours Sligo 2022 Projects
2022 Programme
During the earlier part of 2022 artists Aideen Connolly and Jo Lewis worked with St. Aidans National School, Ballintrillick and St. Teresa's National School, Ballintogher on a 13-week in schools residency.
The artist residency's subject matter was based on encouraging students to explore the possibilities of working with natural materials and nature. Students explored making land art and creating sculptural trails with found organic materials. As part of the Residency, the project artists share their own environmental artwork practice with students.
Following on from the residency work artists Jo Lewis and Aideen Connolly created the exhibition ‘Realm’ which ran for three weeks in the Hyde Bridge Gallery.
As part of the exhibition ‘Realm’, Primary School class groups were invited to participate in artist lead gallery exhibition tours and workshops.
The poem ‘REALMS’ by writer Cróna Gallagher was commissioned as part of the 2022 Primary Colours residency exhibition at the Hyde Bridge Gallery. The poem was inspired by themes behind the exhibition work and the locations of the Primary Schools that took part in the residency.
Make it stand out.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
