2021 Programme
‘PATHS’ is a Sligo County Council Arts Service programmed exhibition. The exhibition work was created by project artists: Michele Feeney, Laura Gallagher, Sarah Sexton, Karen Webster during the ‘Take a Walk for Me’ project 2020- 2021.
Through the Healthy Ireland fund, the Sligo County Council Arts Service, commissioned four artists to creatively capture Sligo walks, exploring the relationship between people and their environment.
The ‘Take a Walk for Me’ project artists each explored a specific walk; the Rosses Point coastal walk explored by artist Laura Gallagher, The Glenwood Abandoned Village (A walk up into Glenwood in the Ox Mountains) explored by artist Sarah Sexton, The Sligo Way (the Ballygawley Mountain section - from Union Wood to Lough Lumman) explored by Karen Webster and the Sligo Town walk to Tobernalt Holy Well. explored by Michele Feeney.
During the exhibition 12 Sligo based Primary Schools had the opportunity to experience the exhibition through a virtual gallery tour and online workshop.
Poems written by the pupils of St Teresas National School, Ballintogher, Co. Sligo, and Killeenduff National School, Easkey, Co Sligo in response to the exhibition.
